About Me
Hi I’m Casey T. Gilbert
I am a Doctor of Public Policy, an Interfaith Minister, and a life-long learner. I love being of service to individuals and organizations, especially when they are feeling stuck or just need to pause and reflect in order to move forward. My superpowers allow me to listen deeply, to help gain clarity, and to chart the course forward for whatever is next. Whether I am helping a client with a time-bound project or serving an organization in a fractional or interim role, I consider myself a partner in the work - and part of the team. I am organized, thoughtful, and bring a sense of humor to my work. We’ll get things done, together, and enjoy the journey along the way.
When I am not immersed in the work that I love doing, you might find me playing tennis, bowling, enjoying the outdoors, or organizing a gathering with friends and family. Though sometimes, I also need a day to just unplug, read a book, and relax. What brings you joy?
Life is a Journey
✦
Life is a Journey ✦
The saying “life is a journey, not a destination” could actually be my life story. I have an adventurous spirit and believe deeply that I am here on this beautiful planet to learn as much as I can - from people, books, travel, and…taking the occasional detour.
Geographically…
…my journey over the years has wound its way throughout New England, Australia, North Carolina, and Florida. I now call Central Florida home, but each place I’ve lived and worked holds a special place in my heart.
Professionally…
…I worked for many years in the family business, in real estate, hospitality, and in various leadership roles for nonprofit organizations. I’ve volunteered on committees and served on nonprofit boards. In 2020, I launched a consulting practice, helping individuals and organizations as a coach, advisor, and facilitator. I have had the honor and privilege of helping dozens of organizations find clarity, get inspired, make a plan, and move forward.
Personally…
…my passion for learning and growth inspired me to pursue a Masters and then Doctorate in Public Policy, as well as to become an ordained Interfaith/Interspiritual Minister. Over the years, I’ve also attended workshops, conferences, trainings, and received certifications in an effort to invest in and prioritize my own personal and professional development. I live my values deeply.
What I have learned…
…is that I have a unique skill-set that is both academic and relational. I use data-informed decision-making that is rooted deeply in human-centered design. It can be challenging to explain what I do as a coach, advisor, and facilitator, but I think my clients and colleagues say it best.
Evolving with the Times
In 2020, I launched PowerWith Consulting. Grounded in the value of co-creation, I approached every client project through the lens of leveraging the wisdom within the team. As a consultant, I provided strategic guidance, developed inclusive processes, and ensured a successful outcome - however that had been defined at the outset. The areas of focus for PowerWith Consulting were strategic planning, retreat facilitation, and coaching for executives and teams. What I discovered along the way was that I like to plan the work, but I also like to do the work
Now, I’m excited to (re)launch this business with fresh eyes and a reignited passion for the work I love to do. I want to honor and highlight my strengths as both a deep and strategic thinker and as a person who believes in the power of human connection and showing up for the people that do the work.
As you navigate this site, I hope that you can sense the journey that I’ve been on, the amazing individuals and businesses that I’ve been able to help, and that perhaps, you can see us working together, too. My core value is being of service and I would love to help you and your team achieve your goals. Let’s have a conversation about where you’re stuck, where you need help, and how we can co-design a plan to help you move forward. We’re in this together.
“Working with Casey is like reading a book by a seasoned, brilliant novelist. You know that the author has spent thousands of hours honing her craft, but all you see and feel is the mastery, grace and ease of the finished product.”

During my tenure as the Executive Director of Portland Downtown, our organization was awarded + recognized as a Psychologically Healthy Workplace by the Maine Psychological Association.
At the end of my tenure, I was honored to receive a Portland City Council Proclamation for demonstrating exceptional commitment to Downtown Portland’s vitality and growth, as well as the experience of its many visitors and stakeholders.
While serving the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce as Vice President of Public Policy, I helped advocate for funding for businesses as they recovered from Hurricane Helene. Building a coalition of local organizations, harnessing data, and appealing to local elected leaders, we were able to secure $13M in CDBG-DR funds to provide grants to help businesses recover, rebuild and rebound.
I also had the honor of helping to launch Asheville’s inaugural downtown improvement district, develop a board onboarding program and organizational workplan.
